What We’re Doing

Our research partnership focuses on monitoring the health of our community, identifying key public health challenges, and working towards sustainable solutions. Students from George Washington University, in collaboration with our foundation, are conducting in-depth studies to assess and address pressing health concerns in New Orleans. This includes collecting valuable data, promoting prevention, and improving access to essential healthcare and well-being information for underserved populations.

Why It Matters

The health of our community is a direct reflection of our future. By working together to tackle issues like food insecurity, childhood obesity, mental health, and access to healthcare, we are not only improving today’s outcomes but also laying the groundwork for better public health policies and programs in the future. This project allows us to bring expert knowledge into the heart of our community, ensuring that every family has the tools they need to live a healthier, happier life.

Our Goals

Through this partnership, we aim to:

  • Create public health resources that are tailored to the needs of our community.

  • Develop educational programs and events that promote healthy living and preventive care.

  • Generate valuable data that will inform future health policies and programs for New Orleans and beyond.

  • Empower students and community leaders to become advocates for public health, ensuring long-term, sustainable change.
